Subframe locating sockets
I decided to fix the high tensile subframe bolts in from the
top as I had trouble hoding them with the motor in place. As they
are high tensile bolts, you are not allowed to weld them, so I
machined down 4 x 3/4" sockets and cutsome discs out of 3mm
plate to weld the sockets to, then weld in place in stages, allowing
to cool as you go. This should keep the engineer happy as the
integrity of the bolt has remained. I cut the discs with a bi-metal
holesaw that I bought as a set off ebay - very good if you cut
slow and use oil - hasn't blunted yet!

Sockets welded and painted with weldable primer.
Welded in place before grinding. |

| Another great tool, a step drill, good for drilling holes to fit
pipes uinto intercooler pipes etc. |

Two Stage Turbo boost switch - allows you to vary boost by
a preset amount by throwing a switch.
1UZ V8 Crown log manifolds - cast iron plates and Stainless Steel
Pipes - if you cut the joiner between the plates, you can reverse
them and use the as cheap turbo manifold pipes. |

| Nutserts - great for putting threads in sheet metal, you can see
the special tool I have, I used to just use a pop rivetter with
a bit of threaded rod through it's centre. |

Having trouble installing the rear spring hanger, I worked out
that if you stuck a block of 70mm wood in, you can just jack under
the diff and it all ligns up easily. |

Temporary dash - I'm building a fiberglass one later - just
trying to beat a rego deadline before the rules change again.

Injectors - 1UZ injectors, High Impedance (13.2ohm),
Crown are 220cc, Soarer/Lexus are 251cc and support 50hp each.
The grey/blue ones are crown, the red ones are RX7 195500-2010
non turbo and are a direct plug in. Get them flow tested when
you buy them, it cost me $36 total at Tuggeranong Injection Service
Centre for 8 including new orings, baskets and seals and you'll
know you won't have a lean cylinder which will kill your motor
- a cheap investment!
Upgrades: I fitted RX7 non turbo injectors - they are rated at
460cc each (mine were tested and all were within 1cc of 437cc
which was good). Check the numbers when you buy them, they all
have numbers on them. I was sold Turbo ones, but they were actually
NA ones (195500-2010), however they handle 700hp so I'm happy
as the others would have been too big. Rx7 all fit, supra turbo,
etc. Buy from the Ausrotary.com forum or ebay.
See tables below. Note if you use low impedance, you'll have
to buy some large resistors from Jaycar - about $1 each.
If you put big ones in you need to up the fuel pressure and fire
them shorter to keep a good idle (ie: aftermarket computer as
the OEM one will not handle big injectors).

| Fuel system - never intended to do this, have agas vapour system,
but will get running with this and then swap to the new LPG Liquid
gas injection that costs about $4500 - with same or better performance
than hi-octane fuel - http://www.alpgw.com.au/ |
