Spots below reserved for any early Holden enthusiasts car projects

Note: Please provide details of your car/s, in fact why not go the whole hog and write a short story about it as I have done. I would love to include colour photos of your project/car, just email me the pictures (click 'email' on the right). Scan the pic as a jpg (which is the best for size and quality) - but I can convert most formats. If you don't have a scanner send me the photos with your information and insert a stamped/self addressed envelope and I will scan them and return them to you.  Save your pics as 800 pixels wide (use paintshop pro or something similiar - if your not sure send me an email for more info.

Under Construction by Eddy Hoek - "Anyone can restore a classic, but it takes a real man to cut one up!"

(The sad and sorry car I bought)

  • I wanted a car to do a custom V6, V8 or turbo jap straight six (RB25 - the modern equivalent to the grey)
  • This project started in December 1996 with the purchase of this 'partly restored'?? car from Sydney for $1000 in a fairly dark commercial building carpark
  • It was fairly complete (minus rubbers) and had been back to metal before undercoating
  • The sills and floorpan had been replaced and it appeared to not have a lot of rust elsewhere - or so I thought!
  • When I started to strip it I found out the real story - the sills and front floor brazed poorly, firewall and front subframe brazed and bogged (or should that be bodged), etc.......

As Deryn Hinch said - that's life!
So began a total strip to see the extent of the work
(click on the above line or the car if you want to see the rest of the story as it progresses)
